Details of inspection:

 Generator package skid

1)     The turbine/generator skid was mounted on
the concrete floor in a building and covered in plastic .  The engine and generator were not on the
skid.  A starter hydraulic motor was on
the skid and not blanked.  The engine
lube oil pump was on the skid and not blanked.
The lube pump gear is corroded and pitted.

2)     This
skid does not have an enclosure and was mounted in a covered building.

3)     All
the fuel lines were not blanked and left open.

4)     All
the tube lines were open and not blanked.

5)     The
paint still looks good.  Very little
surface corrosion seen.

 (Engine air inlet
ducting and housing
(This was supplied by Donaldson India)

1)     The inlet ducting and silencer was left on
the ground open to the elements.  Surface
corrosion seen on the external and flange up areas.  The internal area had slight corrosion.

2)     The
air inlet filter housing was still in a crate at another location.  I did not check this.

3)     Customer
informs me that the filters are
stored in a covered location.

 Turbine exhaust stack
and silencer (not
known as to who supplied this?)

1)     The vertical duct and the silencers were on
the ground open to the elements.  However
the silencer was blanked with steel plates at both ends.

2)     There is slight corrosion on the vertical
stack externally.  The internal looks
OK.  Flange area corroded.

3)     The silencer is corroded slightly
externally.  The internal is stainless
and still looks good.  The flange up area
is corroded.

 Turbine Engine

1)     As informed
by the customer the engine was received October 1998 after repair from
Solar.  The crate is left on the ground
open to the elements but covered all round by a plastic wrap.  Customer informs
me that there is no rain between October to May.

2)     The engine is still in its shipping crate
with stand.  The cocoon has been torn
probably for custom.

3)     The engine inlet and exhaust are still
blanked.

4)     Looking through the inspection cover of the
crate, I could not see any damage to the engine.  The diffuser bolts are slightly corroded.

 Reduction Gearbox

1)     This gearbox was also received at the same
time as the engine after repair from Solar.
The gearbox is in its shipping crate and on the floor next to the engine
open to the elements but covered by a plastic wrap.  Inspection carried out by lifting top of
crate.

2)     The cocoon wrap is torn probably for custom
inspection.

3)     The gearbox mating flange is still blanked
and covered.

4)     The gearbox front end has a coupling hub on
it.

5)     The paint still looks good on the
gearbox.  Very slight surface corrosion
seen.

Naptha fuel skid (Supplied by Solar)

1)     The skid is mounted on the concrete inside
the building and covered totally by plastic wrap.

2)     The skid is made by National Oil Wells and
similar to that used in xxxxxxxxxxx.

3)     The skid paint is still good and no visible
damage is seen.

 Control Console

1)     The
console is mounted inside a building and is covered in plastic.

2)     Externally all controls and indicators look
good.  The synchronising lamps and cap
are missing and the CB close bulb and cap are missing.

3)     Internally,
all components and intact and secure and still looks new.

4)     The
display is a T36 and the PLC is 5/20.

5)     The
PLC has Bently 2201 modules and the LSM module.

 Generator Assembly

1)     The
generator was sent to xxxxxxxxxxx for repairs and was returned to site in
October 1998.  It is still in its
shipping crate and on the ground externally.
There is a double plastic wrap over the top of the crate.  The top section of the crate was missing,
probably for lifting by the top generator lift lugs.

2)     Looking from the front of the generator the
right side junction boxes are all squashed.
This was probably from the original drop.

3)     The coupling hub is on the generator and a
shipping brace is installed on the shaft.

4)     The high tension outlet box was in the back
end of the crate but it is squashed and distorted.  This is probably from the original drop.

5)     The paint work still looks OK except for the
bolt areas where xxxxxxxx has worked on the generator.

6)     A megger was done on the generator terminals
using the computer megger A MECO 1000V/200 Mohm battery operated megger.  The phase to phase values were > 50
Mohm.  The phase to ground value was approx.
50 Mohm.

7)     The damaged parts of the generator were to
be purchased as seen in faxes between Solar and Akai Impex

 Oil Coolers (Supplied
in India) No check done

Loose shipped crate

 1)     This crate was in a building and
opened.  The generator coupling shaft and
the coupling covers were in this box.

2)     2
Lube filters seen still in plastic wrap.

3)     Exhaust
gasket seen but maybe torn.

4)     Unable
to locate shims in the box.

5)     The
box does not appear to have all its content.

 Crates in stores

1)     Two
crates were seen in the stores.

2)     One
crate contained limited RSPL like modules, O rings, actuator etc.

3)     Second
crate contains some FT tools and a Hand tool cabinet.

The shipment of the engine and the gearbox was
supposed to contain other equipment, however the fax from Solar shows two
crates only.  The cover letter was
written by XXXXXXX in July 1998.  The
equipment listed below was not seen at site although it is on the list supplied
by Solar.

23rd August 1996 by XXXXXXXX discussed the LC for the rest of the
generator parts.
